Make a ring
Slip stitch (sl st)
Slip stitch is the smallest stitch in crochet, used to make a ring, attach two works and many more things.
When you work on dc, tr, or any stitch rows, make a chain you desired and sk one or more sts, sl st to next st as shown in this image.

Shell stitch can be made with sc, hdc, dc, tr. Only thing you have to do, make dc, sc, or any stitches more than one into same st (It's create shell stitch)
